England beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the first semi-final at Firoz Shah Kotla to seal a spot in the final. New Zealand got off to a flying start but the English bowlers came back hard to reduce them to 153. In reply, Jason Roy and Alex Hales gave the Three Lions a solid start and in the end won the match in style as Jos Buttler hit a six to finish things off.

On the other hand, the West Indians chased down 193 against the host and tournament favorites India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss, West Indies decided to field first.

India posted a big total of 192 banking on another masterclass by Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli. In reply, the Caribbean side lost their main man Chris Gayle early but Johnson Charles and Lendl Simmons took the responsibility and started counter attacking. Simmons was lucky as he got out twice on two no balls. Andre Russell finished the match in style with a six.

The Caribbeans are in a very good form and looks a very formidable side in the shortest format of the game and have only lost a single game in the tournament. England also played some fearless cricket in the tournament so far and performed really well. They have also only lost a single match in the tournament that too against the West Indies in the Super 10 phase.

Sunday’s big final looks very thrilling on paper but it’s up to the players to deliver the performance on the field. Both the teams will eye to win their second World T20 title at the historic venue of Eden Gardens:
