IND vs BAN 2024, 3rd T20I: India Player Ratings as SKY & Samson butcher Bangladesh
An incredibly one-sided end to the T20I series between India and Bangladesh transpired at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 12. India walloped the visitors by a whopping 133 runs to complete a 3-0 whitewash.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, India weathered the loss of an early wicket with a sensational third-wicket partnership that shattered plenty of records. After the Men in Blue reached nearly 300, falling short by just three runs, the Tigers were always going to be heavily outmatched.
On that note, here are India's player ratings from the third T20I against Bangladesh.
IND vs BAN 2024, 3rd T20I: Samson hits century; batters support him
Abhishek Sharma: 3/10
Abhishek fell victim to another short ball angled into his body. He needed to do better, with the ploy being an obvious one against him. The left-arm spinner bowled one uneventful over.
Sanju Samson: 9.5/10
Samson was at the peak of his powers in Hyderabad as he walloped his maiden T20I century. The keeper-batter had plenty of memorable moments, including a sizzling six over covers and five maximums in a single over. It was a truly special display from a batter who really needed that kind of knock.
Suryakumar Yadav: 9/10
Suryakumar helped himself to a dazzling half-century, playing an array of delightful strokes both behind and in front of square. The Indian skipper supported Samson well and ensured that India kept the momentum going throughout the middle overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy: 6/10
Nitish was dismissed while trying to keep the six-hitting going off his first ball. While the over he bowled in the powerplay was terrible, he came back well with two decent overs in the back half of the Bangladesh innings.
Hardik Pandya: 8.5/10
Hardik's whirlwind cameo featured plenty of eye-catching strokes, and he got going right from the outset. He had the team's highest strike rate and played a valuable hand, although his running between the wickets could've been better. The all-rounder's three overs went for 32 runs.
Riyan Parag: 8/10
Parag, promoted to No. 4, blasted an impressive 34 off 13. While he did hand a couple of chances that weren't snapped up, the youngster played some thunderous shots and didn't take long to get going. He took three catches.
Rinku Singh: 7/10
Rinku smacked a six off the last ball of the Indian innings. He jarred his knee and went off the field.
Washington Sundar: 7/10
Sundar faced just one ball and bowled just one over. The off-spinner managed to provide a breakthrough with one that bounced. He misjudged a catch in the deep off Hardik's bowling.
Varun Chakaravarthy: 7/10
Varun bowled a tidy spell, with his four overs yielding just 23 runs. He was unlucky not to pick up any wickets.
Ravi Bishnoi: 8.5/10
Making his first appearance of the series, Bishnoi was the pick of the Indian bowlers. His googlies and pace through the air were too hot for Bangladesh to handle as he registered three scalps and reached 50 T20I wickets.
Mayank Yadav: 7/10
Mayank bowled two overs in the powerplay, and while his lines were impressive, he was a touch off with his lengths at times. It was an impressive performance nonetheless from the Indian quick, who finished with two wickets after harrying the opposition batters.
