IND vs NZ 2024, 3rd Test: India Player Ratings as Rohit Sharma & Co. crumble to whitewash in Mumbai

Team India crumbled spectacularly on Day 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to lose the third Test by 25 runs on Sunday, November 3. With the defeat, the hosts suffered an unprecedented 3-0 whitewash.

The toss didn't favor India in the last two Tests of the series, but they had enough chances to scale down a 147-run target. Rohit Sharma and company turned in a miserable batting performance to be bowled out for 121, with the last three wickets falling for the addition of no runs.

On that note, here are India's player ratings from the third Test against New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma: 0.5/10

Rohit had another miserable outing. He fell to pace in both innings, and his captaincy was nothing short of terrible. The Indian skipper rightfully took responsibility for his shocking series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: 4/10

Jaiswal got off to a start in the first innings, but an ill-advised reverse sweep sent him back to the hut. He didn't contribute in the chase, and India would've expected more from their in-form opener.

Shubman Gill: 7/10

Gill waged a lone battle in the first innings, with his superb 90 getting India the lead. Like most of the other batters, he exercised a concerning lack of judgment in the second innings.

Virat Kohli: 1/10

Kohli has looked like a fish out of water in turning conditions for a while now, and he was dismissed in two poor ways in the Mumbai Test. He ran himself out instead of seeing out a tricky passage of play in the first innings and was wholly unconvincing on the whole. India will be worried about the form of their star batter.

Rishabh Pant: 8.5/10

Pant was the standout batter in the third Test as he notched up a couple of assured half-centuries. It seemed like he was batting on a different pitch, and while his keeping blew hot and cold, his value to the team was easy to see.

Sarfaraz Khan: 2/10

Sarfaraz was expected to play a bigger role in conditions made for a batter of his ability, but he didn't deliver. He managed 1 run in the match, including a poor dismissal off a full toss in the second innings.

Ravindra Jadeja: 7.5/10

Jadeja was close to his best with the ball, particularly in the first innings. The left-arm spinner finished the Test with a much-needed 10-fer, although his batting once again disappointed.

Ravichandran Ashwin: 6/10

Ashwin was off-color throughout the Test but produced some moments of magic in the second innings to give India a reasonable target to chase down. The veteran off-spinner should've done more with the ball on the opening day.

Washington Sundar: 7.5/10

Sundar was threatening in the first innings and surprisingly wasn't given a starring role in the second. His batting was underutilized as well as he found himself part of the 10th-wicket partnership both times.

Mohammed Siraj: 3/10

Siraj offered nothing with the ball and bowled just six overs in the match.

Akash Deep: 7/10

Deep managed to castle Tom Latham with an impressive delivery in the second innings and prised out Devon Conway in the first. Given the conditions on offer, it was a decent display.
