India confirm Champions Trophy involvement
The BCCI has confirmed India will participate in the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy, ending speculation they would withdraw from the tournament.
Changes to revenue-sharing arrangements and governance had seen the country's cricket board threaten to pull the team from the competition, which takes place in the United Kingdom in June.
However, it was decided at a special general meeting held in New Delhi that India will take their place in the one-day international showpiece, where they are due to take on Pakistan in their first match on June 4.
India had failed to name a squad by the tournament deadline.
"The BCCI SGM unanimously decided that the Indian cricket team will participate in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy," read a statement.
"The All-India Senior Selection Meeting will be held tomorrow, May 8, in New Delhi to pick the team."
