India opt to bowl at Trent Bridge, one change each for both teams

Ambati Rayudu has been selected in the playing XI for 3rd ODI

Indian skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first under overcast skies at Trent Bridge in the 3rd ODI of the ongoing 5-match series.

Having taken a 1-0 lead after 2 matches, the first of which was washed out, Dhoni called correctly at the toss and chose to make the most of good bowling conditions.

With Rohit Sharma ruled out of the series with an injured finger, as expected, Ajinkya Rahane was slotted in the opening position, with 28-year-old Ambati Rayudu finding a place in the playing XI.

Rayudu has played 13 ODIs, with an average of 32.62, including two half-centuries. In the practice match against Middlesex at Lord’s last week, he scored a fluent 72, indicating his current form.

England too made one change in their squad from the previous match, bringing in the tall pacer Steven Finn for Chris Jordan. Jordan struggled with his line at Cardiff, conceding 12 wides in 10 overs and leaking 73 runs.

Playing XI:

India – Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c/wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma.
