India still No. 2 team in latest ICC Test rankings
In the latest ICC rankings released on Monday, India has managed to hold on to its No. 2 spot in Test team rankings behind top ranked South Africa who have maintained their hold at the top of the table.
At 117 points, India is 16 points behind leaders South Africa (133) and 6 points ahead of third ranked Australia (111).
England, who suffered a 5-0 whitewash at the hands of the Aussies, are fourth placed with 107 points.
Pakistan, who won a thriller yesterday in Sharjah by completing a world-record chase, drawing the series 1-1 with Sri Lanka, are also static on the fifth position in the rankings.
Despite the win, the draw meant that Pakistan lost 2 rating points, while sixth placed Sri Lanka gained 2 rating points from the result.
Sri Lanka went into the third Test with a 1-0 lead and needed to win the match to displace Pakistan from the fifth position. Pakistan, on the other hand, needed a win or a draw in the last Test to avoid losing their place in the table.
