India recall Karthik to replace injured Pandey
An injury to Manish Pandey has seen Dinesh Karthik earn a long-awaited India recall for the ICC Champions Trophy.
Pandey suffered a side strain in training, prompting India's selectors to seek reinforcements as Virat Kohli's team attempt to retain the title they won in England in 2013, when they defeated the hosts in the final at Edgbaston.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Karthik has an average of 27.93 from 71 one-day international appearances.
The 31-year-old has not represented his country since an ODI against Afghanistan in 2014 and has never managed a century in the format, scoring 50 on seven occasions. But his form during this year's Indian Premier League has been excellent, with 361 runs in 14 matches at 36.10.
