India's playing 11 from the last time they faced Afghanistan in the West Indies at 2010 T20 World Cup - where are they now?

India are currently up against the challenge of Afghanistan in the Super 8 clash of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Kensington Oval in Barbados. This is their first clash in the ICC T20 event since they last locked horns in the 2010 edition.

That game was played on May 1, 2010, at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia. After being invited to bat first, Afghanistan were in a spot of bother at 29/3 in the sixth over. However, Noor Ali Zadran (50) and Asghar Ali Afghan (30) helped the team to post a respectable total of 115. Ashish Nehra was the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Blue with figures of 3/19 off four overs.

In response, India lost Gautam Gambhir (4) early. However, Murali Vijay (48) and Suresh Raina (18) kept them in good stead. Yuvraj Singh (23*) and MS Dhoni (15*) remained unbeaten, as India sealed the chase in less than 15 overs.

Murali Vijay retired from international cricket in January 2023. His last competitive appearance was in Legends League Cricket Masters 2023. Vijay recently worked as an analyst for Star Sports in IPL 2024.

Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020. He currently plays in various franchise tournaments for former players and also works as an analyst for various broadcasting companies.


Middle-order - Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (c&wk), Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja

Yuvraj Singh bid farewell to international cricket in June 2019. Thereafter, he has been seen taking part in franchise tournaments, featuring retired crickers. He is currently the brand ambassador of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Former skipper MS Dhoni announced his international retirement on August 15, 2020. He was recently seen playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024.

Bowlers - Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra

Harbhajan Singh last featured in an international game in 2015 and played in the IPL until 2021. Along with the franchise tournaments, the former spinner works as an analyst for various broadcasting companies.

Praveen Kumar last played an international game in 2012. He was seen playing in the Legends League Cricket in November 2023.

After announcing his retirement in October 2015, Zaheer Khan worked as a Director of Cricket Operations for the Mumbai Indians. Now, he works as an analyst for different sports channels.

Ashish Nehra's last international appearance came in November 2017. Currently, he serves as the head coach of the Gujarat Titans in IPL. Under Nehra, the Titans secured the title victory in 2022.
