India's predicted playing XI for the 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh | October 9, 2024

Team India are all set to lock horns with Bangladesh in the second T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 9. The Men in Blue currently hold a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the opening contest by seven wickets.

Changes seem unlikely for India, with some players not having much to do in the first T20I. While there is plenty of talent on the bench, we might see the home side field the same side again.

India’s squad for the 3 T20Is against Bangladesh: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav.

On that note, here is India's predicted playing XI for the second T20I against Bangladesh.

Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson seemed to be in good nick in the opening T20I, although neither opener converted their start into a sizeable score. The duo will be keen on cashing in at a venue where run-scoring is expected to be prolific.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav played a few trademark pickup shots in the first T20I, and the short boundaries in Delhi will no doubt be under serious threat on Wednesday.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Hardik Pandya batted at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, in the last game. We could see Riyan Parag shunted up the order in an attempt to give him some time in the middle, with Nitish taking the new ball ahead of Hardik is something that might serve India well.

Rinku Singh, who didn't get to bat in Gwalior, will also be intent on making a meaningful contribution.

Lower order: Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy

India sprung a welcome surprise in Gwalior as they fielded Varun Chakaravarthy ahead of Ravi Bishnoi. The returning spinner gave a decent account of himself, picking up three wickets, and should retain his place for this encounter.

Arshdeep Singh and the rapid Mayank Yadav are expected to retain their places as the lead quicks ahead of Harshit Rana, while Washington Sundar will add depth at No. 8 and serve as the secondary spinner.
