India series gives extra motivation to Mushfiqur Rahim and for Shakib-al-Hasan, it attracts sponsors

Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim has said that India series is a motivation driven platform for him where the home team can prove their mettle.

"For me, playing against India gives me extra motivation as the entire cricketing world will be watching the series with a lot of interest,” said Mushfiqur as quoted by The Telegraph.

Mushfiqur emphasised by saying that people said defeating Pakistan was easy because the visitors didn’t have their strong unit during the series. So, India series will be the one to answer all the critics of our ability.

"When we beat Pakistan in the ODI series, critics said that they were not a quality team. So there is extra bit of motivation for me to do well against India."

While for Shakib-al-Hasan, India series is always something more than just a cricket series because he thinks the World watches Bangladesh when they play their mighty neighbours. This is good as it attracts various sponsors which prove beneficial for his team. The all-rounder said said,"For me, an India series means that you can attract the attention of potential sponsors.”

Attacking left-handed batsman Tamim Iqbal made a more realistic statement by saying he wants to win at least one of the three ODI matches.

"We would try our best and play to win the Test match. But for all practical purposes, I would like to win at least one ODI in the three-match series," said Tamim.
