India announce squads for last 2 ODIs vs Sri Lanka and Test tour of Australia
India announced the squad for the remaining 2 ODIs and the Test tour of Australia today.
There were a total of 4 changes in the ODI squad for the remaining 2 matches, with Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra being replaced by Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa, Vinay Kumar, Kedar Jadhav and Karn Sharma.
Regular skipper MS Dhoni hasn’t been named in the squad, albeit he’s there in the Test squad for Australia. However, having reportedly injured his forearm, he’ll miss the first Test at Brisbane.
In his absence, Virat Kohli will lead the side in the remaining 2 ODIs and the 1st Test agains Australia starting December 4.
India have already won the 5-match ODI series 3-0 at home.
India name 19-member Test squad for Australia
A 19-member Indian squad has been named for the Australian tour, with the selectors not taking any chances, given that Dhoni is already recovering from injury. With the World Cup coming up in February-March, the selectors have named a large touring party to the venue which will host the big event.
While KL Rahul and Karn Sharma are the new entrants in the squad, Suresh Raina has made a comeback for the first time after the 2012 home series against New Zealand.
