India U-19 juggernaut rolls on to World Cup semi-final, Namibia crushed by 197 runs
Namibia U-19’s run in the 2016 World Cup in Bangladesh was brought to an end by the charge of the India U-19 team, who qualified through to the semi finals by a margin of 197 runs.
Rishabh Pant, who was picked up by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auction for 1.9 crores, justified his price tag by slamming a 96-ball 111. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for this knock.
Sarfaraz Khan (76) and Arman Jaffer (64) also chipped in with useful runs in the middle order, as India finished their innings at 349/6.
Namibia started their chase in a very convincing fashion, their openers taking them to 59 for no loss in the 9th over. With spinners stopping the tide of runs, the batsmen started to fail under pressure, however, as their campaign lost steam against a huge target of 350.
From 59/1, Namibia collapsed to 152 all out within 39 overs, giving India U-19 yet another win on the trot.
Brief Scores – India U19 349/6 (Pant 111, Sarfaraz 76, Jaffer 64; Coetzee 3/78) beat Namibia U19 152 all out (Green 27; Dagar 3/25, Anmolpreet 3/27) by 197 runs\
