India vs Australia 2017: Mohammed Kaif heaps praise on Kuldeep Yadav as prediction comes true
What’s the story?
The Indian cricket team’s debutant Kuldeep Yadav outfoxed the Australian batting line-up with a magnificent spell of bowling on the first day’s play of the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. By doing so, he received a lot of credit for his performance from cricketers around the world. One of them was his former Uttar Pradesh captain Mohammed Kaif who heaped praise on the 22-year-old for an extremely impressive debut.
“If a player has match-winning ability and skill to take wickets, then you must pick him. It's a masterstroke by Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli. Indian attack needed that, especially it being the Test that decides the outcome of the series. Great pick, that's why I tweeted in the morning that he will be the man of the moment," Kaif said.
"Give the ball to Kuldeep and wait and watch what happens. The difference between him and other similar spinners is that he is very accurate and will hardly give you loose balls.A batsman may come out and hit him over the top, like Glenn Maxwell did today, but he will be right back at you attacking the very next ball," he continued.
The Context
Interestingly enough, Kaif, who has played with Kuldeep for a few years took to social media platform Twitter just before the match began and tweeted saying that Kuldeep would have a great debut.
Prediction - Kuldeep Yadav will have a great debut. Aussies should struggle to read him. Best wishes to Team India.#IndvAus

The Details:
Kuldeep, who has been on the radar of the Indian selectors for some time now made the most of his moment as he produced a sensational performance to get India back into the game after a strong start by the Kangaroos on day 1.

Australia, who had opted to bat first after winning the toss lost the wicket of Matt Renshaw early on but David Warner and Steve Smith put on a 134 run stand to put Australia on top. It was Kuldeep who provided the crucial breakthrough by dismissing Warner with a beauty of a delivery. He did not stop there as he picked up the wickets of Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, and Pat Cummins as well.
Author’s Take
On one hand, we cannot help but ponder over the fact that whether India missed a trick by not including the ‘chinaman’ in the playing XI for the first three Tests.
However, in the form of Kuldeep Yadav, it looks like the Indian cricket team have produced a deadly weapon and added to their spin arsenal, and also given the selectors a headache for the future. Let’s hope he continues to produce magnificent performances for the Indian side.
