After coasting to an easy 6 wicket win in Hyderabad, the Men in Blue took on Australia in the 2nd ODI at Nagpur with an aim of continuing its winning momentum.

Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss once again and decided to bowl first. Put into bat on a slow pitch, the Indian scored 250 runs in 48.2 overs on the back of a brilliant hundred by skipper Virat Kohli.

Chasing a tricky target of 251, the Australian openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja got the Aussies off to a superb start by adding 83 runs for the opening wicket in just 14.3 overs. However, the Indian spinners brought India back in the match by dismissing both Finch and Khawaja in quick succession.

After the fall of the openers, Australian team lost wickets at regular intervals and fell short of the target by just 9 runs despite a fighting half-century by Marcus Stoinis to hand India a 2-0 lead in the 5 match ODI series.

With the match done and dusted, let's see how the players from both sides fared in these thrilling encounter.

Rohit Sharma- 1/10

The Indian vice-captain had a match to forget as he was dismissed for a duck by Pat Cummins in the very first over of the match.

Shikhar Dhawan - 3/10

Dhawan's recent poor run of form with the bat continued as he was dismissed for just 21 runs by Glenn Maxwell.

Virat Kohli- 10/10

On a pitch where most of his batting colleagues struggled, Virat Kohli scored a superb 116 runs knock off 120 balls which formed the backbone of India's 250 runs total. For his superb century, Kohli was awarded Player of the Match trophy.

Ambati Rayudu- 1/10

Rayudu endured second consecutive failure with the bat as he was dismissed for just 18 runs by Nathan Lyon thereby seriously effecting Rayudu's chances of being India's No. 4 for ICC World Cup 2019 to be held in England.

Vijay Shankar- 9/10

Apart from Virat Kohli, Vijay Shankar was the only other Indian batsmen who looked in fine touch with the bat in today's game and scored an entertaining 46 runs knock off just 41 balls before being run out in an unfortunate manner. Vijay Shankar also held his calm with the ball and defended 11 runs off the final over to lead India to an 8 run victory.

Kedar Jadhav- 5/10

Hero of India's win in Hyderabad, Kedar Jadhav had a poor outing with the bat and was dismissed for just 11 runs by Adam Zampa but made up for by putting up good performance with the ball as he conceded just 33 runs in his 8 overs and also picked up the big wicket of Usman Khawaja.

MS Dhoni- 4/10

Just like Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni too encountered a rare failure with the bat and was dismissed for a first ball duck by Adam Zampa. However, Dhoni had a brilliant outing behind the stumps and took two fine catches which gives him a few additional points.

Ravindra Jadeja- 6/10

Jadeja struggled for timing with the bat, but somehow hung on to score 21 runs of 40 balls and added crucial 67 runs for the 7th wicket with Virat Kohli to help India post a respectable. Like he did in Hyderabad, Jadeja delivered another economical spell of 10-0-48-1 with the ball.

Kuldeep Yadav- 9/10

Kuldeep Yadav was India's best bowler in today's match as he picked up 3 important wickets and conceded 54 runs in his 10 overs spell.

Mohammed Shami- 1/10

Compared to other Indian bowlers, Shami had a rare off-day as he bowled an expensive spell of 10-0-60-0.

Jasprit Bumrah- 9/10

Bumrah bounced back from a poor outing in the 1st ODI at Hyderabad with a superb spell of 10-0-29-2 to completely derail the Australian chase.
