India won the first ODI against Australia by six wickets. The second ODI between these two is currently being played in the Orange City of Nagpur.

Australia won the toss and asked India to bat first. It was not an ideal start for India as they lost Rohit Sharma in the very first over for a duck. This is Rohit's first ODI duck in India. Dhawan looked good until he got out to Maxwell for 21 runs. Ambati Rayudu could not make his mark in this game and he also got outย LBW.

India made a surprise move as they pushed Vijay Shankar ahead of Kedar Jadhav and Dhoni. It turned out to be a good move. The Tamil Nadu cricketer was striking really well. He was matching with Kohli ball by ball in this game. The Indian captain reached his 50th half century in ODI cricket. On the other hand, Shankar also was playing well with Kohli. He played some incredible shots including a six. He looked really good both against spinners and fast bowlers. Australian bowlers could not bother him with the ball. It's a kind of innings which he would have wanted to play with the World Cup selection around the corner.ย

India was really doing well with Shankar and Kohli partnership and all set for the big score. In the 29th over, Virat Kohli smashed Zampa straight down the ground. The ball touchedย Zampa's hands when he tried to field and the ball crashed straight into the stumps. And the replay showed Shankar was out to the crease and was declared out. Everyone felt really sad for the Indian all-rounder who looked really fluent today and on his way to scoring big. It is one of the unfortunate ways to get out in cricket and the situation made it even worse.
