India vs Australia 2019, 4th ODI: Match details, Venue Stats & Key Players
After facing a defeat in Ranchi ODI, Indian Team is set to host the Kangaroos for the fourth ODI at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium. Australia bounced back in style against an in-form team and pulled one game back to level the series wonderfully at 2-1. India needs to get their combination right in the remaining two games if they want to seal this series. Both the teams will collide at Mohali tomorrow in the penultimate encounter of this tour.
India has been one of the most consistent in the 50-over format since last few years. However, at Ranchi, we saw just the shadow of the second-ranked ODI team in the world. In their previous outing, the Blue Brigade looked sluggish in the field and gave too many easy runs to the visitors. Virat Kohli scored another sensational ton against the Kangaroos, but his valiant effort couldn’t take India over the line. The hosts will look to make some changes in their starting lineup as they missed a trick or two in their previous encounter and played three spinners along with two frontline seamers on a flat track. India would be eyeing to dismantle the Kangaroos and seal the series heading into the fourth ODI.
On the other hand, Australia has struggled in the one-dayers in the last couple of years. Since 2018, the reigning World Champions have only managed to win four ODI games out of their 19 outings. However, the visitors scripted an excellent comeback in their previous match and defeated the Indian team by 32 runs. Australia’s batting was the primary concern ahead of the ICC World Cup, but the openers anchored the innings well under pressure. Usman Khawaja scored his maiden ODI century and made sure the Kangaroos posted a challenging total of 313/5 on the board. Australia would be hoping for the same kind of dominant performance in Mohali and level the ODI series.
