India vs Australia, 2024 T20 World Cup: India player ratings as Men in Blue hang on to win after Rohit Sharma magic

Team India continued their unbeaten run in the 2024 T20 World Cup as they beat Australia by 24 runs in St Lucia on Monday, June 24. With the win, the Men in Blue officially secured passage to the semifinals and put the Aussies in serious trouble.

After Mitchell Marsh elected to bowl first, Rohit Sharma led the way for his side on either side of a short rain break. India reached a score above 200, one that was always going to challenge Australia. While Travis Head kept their hopes alive, it wasn't enough in the end.

On that note, here are India's player ratings from their T20 World Cup clash against Australia.

T20 World Cup 2024, India vs Australia: Rohit sizzles in St Lucia

USA v India - ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup West Indies & USA 2024

Rohit Sharma: 9.5/10

Rohit was at his absolute best in St Lucia as he hammered the Australian bowlers to all corners of the ground. The Indian skipper kept the scoreboard moving at a rapid rate despite wickets at the other end and played some scintillating shots. It was a truly masterful knock.

Virat Kohli: 1/10

Kohli's misery in the 2024 T20 World Cup continued as he bagged a painstaking duck, with Josh Hazlewood getting the better of him once again. The opening batter just can't seem to buy a run at the moment.

Rishabh Pant: 2/10

Pant started very slowly, and although he hit a couple of boundaries, he couldn't make up for the balls he wasted. He was also uncharacteristically poor behind the stumps.

Suryakumar Yadav: 7/10

Suryakumar was India's second-highest run-scorer as he hit three fours and two sixes in a sparkling cameo. He also took a good catch at slip.

Shivam Dube: 4.5/10

Dube hasn't been anywhere close to his best in the T20 World Cup so far. He trundled along at a strike rate under 130 to suck some momentum out of the second half of the Indian innings.

Hardik Pandya: 6/10

Hardik essayed an important cameo to take India past the 200-run mark, even though his acceleration at the death wasn't as fast as it could've been. The all-rounder was taken to the cleaners with the ball and finished wicketless.

Ravindra Jadeja: 3/10

Jadeja had another miserable outing. He faced five balls, bowled a poor over that went for 17 runs, and dropped a catch in the deep.

Axar Patel: 8/10

Axar's spell was important in the context of the game, with India needing to sneak in a few overs of their left-arm spinners with Travis Head at the crease. His three overs produced just 21 runs, and he dismissed Marcus Stoinis. Axar plucked a stunning catch at deep square as well.

Jasprit Bumrah: 7.5/10

Bumrah didn't get his execution perfectly right against Head, but he was unplayable at the death once again. The ace spearhead was also unlucky not to get Mitchell Marsh's wicket. Even on a relatively bad day, he conceded only 29 runs.

Arshdeep Singh: 8/10

Arshdeep provided an important breakthrough in the first over and came back to take two more scalps at the death. While his execution wasn't perfect, resulting in four fours and two sixes being hit off his bowling, he did his job well enough.

Kuldeep Yadav: 9/10

Kuldeep was once again the man with the magic arm in the middle overs, finishing as India's most economical bowler on a pitch where Adam Zampa struggled. The left-arm spinner was unpickable and relentlessly consistent.
