India vs Bangladesh: CAB set to refund tickets for the last two days of the D/N Test
What’s the story?
The Cricket Association of Bengal has decided to provide a refund to those spectators who had purchased tickets for Day 4 and 5 of the historic day-night Test between India and Bangladesh.
In case you didn’t know
The pink-ball Test between the sub-continental neighbours lasted just two days and a bit as the Indians convincingly thumped the Tigers. The hosts won the Test held at Kolkata by an innings and 130 runs to complete a 2-0 clean sweep against the Mominul Haque-led outfit.
The heart of the matter
Usually, there is a stipulation ingrained on tickets that states that there shall be no refund even if a solitary ball is bowled during the encounter. However, considering the magnitude of the occasion and the fact that the fans filled the Eden Gardens to the brim, the authorities have slightly let up on the fans, thereby providing them with a refund for Day 4 and 5 of the encounter.
The CAB stated,
The process of refunding the amounts for Day 4 and Day 5 Tickets has started. Messages would be sent to all online transactors who have booked only for these two days.
The secretary of the CAB, Avishek Dalmiya also chipped in, saying,
CAB has always stood by the cricket-loving people and have tried its best to provide them with the best of facilities. This time too, there would be no exception. It is our moral duty to refund amounts of the tickets for the last two days where no game is being played at all.
What’s next?
After the culmination of the Test series against Bangladesh, the Men In Blue will take on the West Indies in a T20I series, which begins on the 6th of December at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
