KL Rahul

Rating: 6/10

The other opener-KL Rahul- had an on-off series, but in the three matches that he featured in, the Karnataka batsman amassed 233 runs at an average of 60.05, that included a career-best score of 199 in the first innings.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Rating:8/10

Another excellent series with the bat for Pujara. The right-hander amassed 401 runs in 5 matches at an average of 50.12 and continued to exhibit his new found style of batting, mixing caution with aggression and maintaining a good tempo in his game.

Virat Kohli

Ranking: 9.5/10

The Indian Test skipper once again had a regal series with the bat in hand, amassing 655 runs in the 5 matches at an average of 109.16, that included 2 centuries. The right-hander began the series ranked as the 15th batsman in the Test rankings, and ends the series ranked 2nd in the world.

Ajinkya Rahane

Ranking: 3/10

One of the most consistent performers in the Indian line-up, Ajinkya Rahane had an off series this time around, amassing a mere 63 runs in the three Tests that he played in before missing the final two games in Mumbai and Chennai.

Wriddhiman Saha

Rating:5/10 

The wicket-keeper played just the first two Tests before injury ruled him out of the remainder of the series.

Parthiv Patel

Rating: 7/10

His replacement for the remaining matches, Parthiv Patel had a fine outing in the remaining three Tests, scoring 195 runs at an average of 65 with two fifties.

Karun Nair

Rating: 8.5/10

After two disappointing outings in Mohali and Mumbai, Karun Nair came back with a bang in the Chennai Test, when he slammed an unbeaten 303, breaking a plethora of records on the way and building a platform for a great Indian win.

Gautam Gambhir

Rating: 3/10

Gambhir featured in the Rajkot Test and made 29 runs in the game at the top of the order.
