India vs South Africa, Second ODI: Player ratings

Chahal stunned the South African batting.

After a tremendous victory in the first ODI, the Indian cricket team was notably energized for their second match. The team, especially the spinners were marvellous during the first innings as they collectively took eight wickets.

However, on the other hand, the hosts had a nightmare on the pitch and were completely outclassed by the Indian spinners. They would hope to make the right changes and win the remaining ODI's.

Let us take a look at the ratings:

South Africa:

Hashim Amla: 5.5/10

Despite playing over 30 balls, Amla was still looking a little hesitant at the crease. The South African veteran scored a decent 23 and would've wanted to convert the start into a big score. However, he was outclassed by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar yet again and lost the wicket by playing the shot in an awful position.

Quinton de Kock: 5.5/10

Similar to his opening partner, de Kock played over 30 balls and looked a little unsettled at the crease. The wicketkeeper scored 20 off 36 balls and lost his wicket to a good looking pull as the ball goes straight to Pandya in the deep.

Aiden Markram: 3/10

The South African captain didn't have the best debut as the skipper. He lost the toss, and the team couldn't perform well with the bat as the Indian spinners completely overshadowed them for a mere 118 runs. With the bat, the skipper didn't have much of an impact on the scoreboard as he could only manage to hit eight runs.

Jean-Paul Duminy: 5.5/10

The 33-year-old tried his best to give his side a decent score. However, his wicket was taken by Chahal in front of the stumps as he tried to sweep across the line.

David Miller: 1/10

The South African hitter didn't make an impact on the scoreboard as Kuldeep's bowling thoroughly outclassed him. The ball was tossed up, and Kuldeep made him drive on the front foot which led to knicking the edge of the bat.

Khaya Zondo: 5.5/10

The debutant played a crucial role and scored 25 runs off 45 balls. However, he lost his wicket to Chahal, as the Indian bowler tossed the ball wide and forced Zondo to swing at it which led to a top edge.

Chris Morris: 3.5/10

The South African all-rounder didn't have a great match. He scored only 14 runs and couldn't have much of an impact on the crumbling South African batting lineup. He just bowled three overs and didn't trouble the Indian batsmen in any circumstance.

Kagiso Rabada: 5.5/10

The 22-year-old took the crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma. He bowled five overs and conceded 24 runs. With the bat, he could only manage to score a single run and didn't disturb the scorecard much.

Morne Morkel: 1.5/10

He bowled four overs and conceded 30 runs. The Indian batsmen completely dominated his bowling and weren't troubled by Morkel at all. He was not at his usual best, and this is probably because the Indian batsmen didn't have any pressure of chasing a high score.

Imran Tahir: 2/10

The veteran South African conceded 30 runs in just over five overs. He couldn't take any wickets as both Kohli and Dhawan were looking extremely comfortable.

Tabraiz Shamsi: 2/10

He only bowled three overs and conceded 18 runs. He didn't have much of an impact on the entire game.
