34th ODI century for the Indian skipper

The Indian team looked energized and motivated for another victory against the Proteas in Cape Town. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli gave the perfect foundation for the team and were magnificent for the spectators. The Indian skipper scored his 34th ODI century and led the entire team from the front.

The Proteas struggled against the wrist spinners yet again. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal picked eight wickets amongst themselves and shattered the entire South African batting lineup. With AB de Villiers making a come back in the next ODI, the South African team will hope to change the course of this series, which India leads 3-0.

Let us take a look at how each player fared in the game.

India:

Rohit Sharma: 1/10

The 'Hitman' struggled in this series as he was out for a duck off the bowling of Kagiso Rabada. He wasn't sure about his shot and tried to leave the ball, resulting in an inside edge to the keeper.

Shikhar Dhawan: 9/10

'Gabbar' was absolutely fantastic regarding his approach to batting. He scored a blistering 76 off just 63 balls, which also included 12 glorious fours. He provided a perfect foundation for the middle order exploit.

Virat Kohli: 10/10

The Indian skipper continued his tremendous form in this match. He managed to score another magnificent century and controlled the entire Indian batting with his stability. He scored his 34th ODI century by hitting a staggering 160 off 159 deliveries and helped India get past the 300 mark.

Ajinkya Rahane: 4/10

Rahane couldn't showcase his class in Cape Town as he played a rather weak shot. He came down the track to Duminy and was beaten by the flight. He only managed to score 11 off 13 deliveries.

Hardik Pandya: 5/10

The Indian all-rounder hasn't had the best series in South Africa. Another poor performance with the bat as he scored 14 runs in 15 deliveries with Chris Morris getting him out with an edge. With the ball, he bowled eight overs and conceded 35 runs. He bowled the perfect line and length and troubled the middle order.

MS Dhoni: 4/10

The Indian veteran didn't have the best game as he scored only 10 of 22 deliveries that were played by him. Needing less than 100 runs to reach the 10,000 mark in ODI's, Dhoni will be hoping to achieve this landmark soon and score big for the team once again. The Indian wicketkeeper was quick behind the wickets as he used his fast hands to dismiss Aiden Markram.

Kedhar Jadhav: 1/10

Jadhav played a very reluctant shot trying to dab the ball towards thirdman but ended up getting a thick edge to the keeper. He managed to score one run in three deliveries.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar: 6/10

He played a significant role towards the end of the first innings by supporting Kohli with the bat. He scored 16 off 19 deliveries and allowed the skipper to accelerate. With the ball, he bowled well and continued to pitch the ball at perfect areas.

Yuzvendra Chahal: 9/10

The 27-year-old legspinner was stunning yet again as he picked up the vital wicket of JP Duminy. He ended up with four wickets in his nine overs and conceded 46 runs. Chahal continued his tremendous form and bowled in the perfect areas as he troubled the entire South African lineup.

Kuldeep Yadav: 9/10

The young Indian chinaman is proving to be a massive asset for the Indian cricket team. He bowled beautifully throughout the series and continued his performance as he outfoxed the South African skipper. Similar to his counterpart, Yadav picked up four wickets in his nine overs and conceded just 23 runs, including a maiden.

Jasprit Bumrah: 7/10

He got the wicket of the mighty Hashim Amla on the first ball of his spell. Apart from this, Bumrah also managed to get the dangerous David Miller. He was very economical with the new ball and continued to showcase his accuracy. He bowled seven overs and conceded 32 runs taking two crucial wickets.
