India registered a thumping win over Sri Lanka in Mohali to level the series 1-1. Rohit Sharma scored a swashbuckling 208 from just 153 balls and played a major role in India's victory.

After suffering a humiliating loss at the hands of the same opponents in first ODI at Dharamsala, India produced a smashing turnaround in the second ODI. Here are four aspects which helped change the fortunes in their favour.


#4 Openers set solid platform

Before the start of the match, Indian batsmen were under immense pressure due to their poor performance in the first match. After losing the toss, India batted first on a pitch that was slightly difficult to bat early on.

India needed a solid start as the middle order was relatively inexperienced. Both Rohit and Dhawan started cautiously. The duo scored 33 runs off first 10 overs without getting separated.
