Day two of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka was just another day in the office for Virat Kohli as he did what he does the best - scoring runs - reaching his sixth Test double century in the last 18 months at his home ground, Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi.

He went to lunch unbeaten on 224 with the Indian team cruising at 500/5 in just four sessions. When Kohli walked out to bat in the second session, a lot of things changed and the weather in the national capital became hazy.

The weather in the National Capital Region has been the talking point of late as there has been smog present, making life difficult for the locals. Coming into the field for the second session of play, the Sri Lankan fielders were seen wearing masks to protect themselves. After a brief break, India lost the wickets of R Ashwin and Virat Kohli. Still, the visitors complained and both their pacers left the field after facing some respiratory issues.

With opener Sadeera Samarawickrama already out of the day's play and both Lahiru Gamage and Suranga Lakmal leaving the field, the Lankan physio and fielding coach were ready to take the field to make up the numbers.

Indian skipper Kohli came to their rescue as he declared the innings, much to the excitement of Sri Lankan players Niroshan Dickwella and Lakshan Sandakan.

The visitors ended day two at 131/3 with Chandimal and Mathews at the crease.
