India managed to whitewash a side in a bilateral series of three matches or more. Following the 3-0 win over Australia in 2016, India managed to register their first T20I whitewash on home soil (min 3 matches) as they beat Sri Lanka in the third T20I at Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma's maiden stint as T20I captain was a massive hit as India comfortably got over the line in Cuttack, Indore and Mumbai. There were plenty of top performers for the hosts. Here's the report card for the Indian players after the T20I series:

KL Rahul - 9.5

After being overlooked for the ODI and T20I series against Australia and New Zealand, KL Rahul sent a strong message to the selectors by scoring back-to-back fifties in the first T20Is against Sri Lanka.

The right-hander was the top-scorer for India in the first T20I, where he set the perfect platform and helped India off to a winning start. While he was outdone by Rohit in the second T20I, he still scored a 49-ball 89 and put on 165 for the first wicket.

Rohit Sharma - 9

Courtesy of his century in the second T20I, Rohit enjoyed a brilliant start to captaincy in T20Is as well. The joint-fastest century in T20Is wasn't just the only record he broke during his whirlwind knock. His century helped India seal the series and the opener impressed as captain as well.

He finished as the highest run-scorer in the series with 162 runs at an average of 54 and strike rate in excess of 200.
