India vs West Indies 2016: Virat Kohli and rest of Indian Cricket team having a good time in Caribbean
Virat Kohli and rest of Indian Cricket team along with their newly appointed head coach Anil Kumble arrived in the Caribbean Islands for a long and hectic 4 match test series against the West Indies. The pressure on the touring team is immense as they are the overwhelming favourites to win the series comprehensively.
Before coming for the tour, the new head coach had arranged a drumming session where each and every cricketer from the squad including the support staff played drums together and had a gala time where they danced and enjoyed to their heart’s content. The session was conducted to make the peer relation stronger as it helps in gelling as a team together.
Though the head coach had set specific rules for the team to make it a disciplined bunch, he is also giving them the freedom to express themselves both on and off the field.
Anil Kumble had recently mentioned in an interview that he won’t curb the natural instinct of any cricketer or his way of approaching the game but would definitely try to instil a combination of discipline and aggression within the team which might play a pivotal role in winning the series against the unfancied Caribbeans.
He will also keep in mind that a 4-0 win will put the Men in Blue at top of the ICC rankings, which will play an important role in shaping them up for a long home season against the likes of Australia, England and New Zealand.
The young brigade was seen relaxing on the beaches of the Caribbean Island as the whole team along with the support staff left for a small island, Nevis. The whole team was seen posting pictures on social networking sites and it seems the team is in a good state of mind and getting along with each other well.
The pictures define the mood in the dressing room. The coach has clarified that he is not against sledging or is of the view that sledging is not an Indian culture but just wants an Indian-ness in the dressing room where each and every cricketer will respect each other and put up their opinions when required.
Creating a culture and gelling together is a part of Jumbo’s future scheme of things.
