India vs West Indies 2019: Rohit Sharma on the verge of achieving unique career milestone
When Rohit Sharma takes the field against West Indies for the 1st T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, he will have his sights set on yet another career milestone.
Rohit has struck 399 sixes in international cricket and needs just one more maximum to reach the 400-mark and join an elite list containing just two players - Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle.
Moreover, when Rohit does notch up his 400th six in international cricket, he will become the first Indian to achieve the milestone.
The 32-year-old has struck 52, 232 and 115 sixes in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively. However, he remains a long way off Afridi and Gayle, who have 476 and 534 sixes to their respective names.
Considering the fact that Rohit struck six sixes in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh, it is safe to say that he should achieve the milestone in the upcoming series.
India will lock horns with West Indies at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Friday in the first match of the three-T20I series.
The action will then shift to the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, while the final game will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The two teams will also battle it out in a three-match ODI series starting December 15.
