India vs Zimbabwe 2016: Statistical preview of ODI series
India will take on host Zimbabwe on 11 June 2016 at Harare in the first ODI match of the three-match ODI series. 82 – The number of runs MS Dhoni needs to become 5th Indian player to complete 9000 runs in ODIs. The other four players are Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Azharuddin.
11 – The number of balls MS Dhoni needs to face to become 2nd wicket-keeper batsman after Kumar Sangakkara to face 10,000 balls in ODI cricket. MS Dhoni has played 9989 balls in ODIs from 275 matches till date.
3 – The number of sixes MS Dhoni needs to hit to beat Ricky Ponting’s record of hitting most sixes in ODIs as a captain. MS Dhoni has hit 121 sixes from 191 matches as a captain of India.
48 – The number of runs Ambati Rayudu needs to score to complete 1000 runs in ODI cricket. If he will complete 1000 runs then he will become the 36th Indian player to score 1000 runs in ODIs.
8 – The number of sixes MS Dhoni needs to hit in ODIs to become the 1st Indian player and 5th overall player to hit 200 sixes in ODI cricket.
17th – Graeme Creamer will become the 17th player to captain Zimbabwe in ODIs when he will take charge against India on 11 June 2016 in the first match.
6 – The number of Indian players who can make their debut in the India vs Zimbabwe ODI series, 2016. These players are KL Rahul, Faiz Fazal, Karun Nair, Jayant Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mandeep Singh.
8 – The number of bilateral series’ played between India and Zimbabwe till date. India have won seven while Zimbabwe have won only one.
134 – First ODI vs Zimbabwe at Harare on 11 June 2016 will be India’s 1st ODI game after a gap of 134 days. The last ODI match India played was against Australia on January 23 2016 at Sydney.
4 – The number of dismissals MS Dhoni needs to claim to become 4th wicket-keeper after Kumar Sangakkara, Adam Gilchrist and Mark Boucher to claim 350 dismissals in ODI cricket.
5 – The number of wickets Elton Chigumbura needs to take to become 5th Zimbabwean bowler to take 100 wickets in ODIs. He has taken 95 wickets from 196 ODIs till date for Zimbabwe.
