India will answer Kerry O'Keefe's comments on the field, says India's bowling coach

It hurts when people make such remarks: Bharat Arun responds to Kerry O’Keefe’s jibes on-air

Senior Australian cricketer, Kerry O'Keeffe has done it again. After insulting Mayank Agarwal and Ranji Trophy on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test, the former Australian cricketer mocked the names of Cheteswar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja. While on air with Shane Warne, O'Keefe was heard saying "Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar Pujara?"

In the aftermath of the comments made by O'Keeffe on Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test, India's bowling coach Bharat Arun said: "Well, yes it does hurt you. But then when people make those remarks, there's nothing you can do about it because it's beyond your control. If you can channelize that hurt towards doing better on the field, then that answers all the questions."

Meanwhile, India are on the verge of taking a 2-1 lead in the series as they need only two wickets on the final day, as Pat Cummins did his best to delay the inevitable on the fourth day.

Earlier on the first day of the Test, O'Keeffe insulted Mayank Agarwal and Ranji Trophy by claiming that Agarwal may have scored his triple century against 'some canteen staff or waiters' referring to the Indian domestic bowlers.

Following the initial comments, India's head coach Ravi Shastri was invited for a post-day show where he said, "He [Mayank] has got a message for Kerry... 'when you do open your canteen, he wants to come and smell the coffee. He wants to compare it to the ones back in India...coffee here's better or the ones back home'."

The comments from O'Keefe, who played 24 Tests and two ODIs for Australia between 1971 and 1977, did not go well with not only the cricket fans but also former cricketers.

Following the 'Cheteshwar Jadeja' comment, India batsman Aakash Chopra slammed O'Keefe on Twitter. The former Indian cricketer said that it's the commentator's problem that he is not able to pronounce players' names and not the other way around.
