India will miss MS Dhoni's experience in Asia Cup, says Misbah-ul-Haq
Pakistan’s ODI captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that team India will miss the experience of MS Dhoni in the upcoming Asia Cup 2014.
“They will miss his experience and captaincy but Virat Kohli is a suitable replacement and India remains a strong challenge in the tournament.”
“But India apart, I say again and again that all the teams in the Asia Cup remain strong challengers for the title,” Misbah added.
MS Dhoni has been ruled out of Asia Cup 2014 as a result of a side strain. The Indian skipper was diagnosed with a grade-one strain to his left side.
Misbah said that the Pakistan team is high on confidence because of their recent one day international victories against Sri Lanka and South Africa.
“Pakistan obviously goes into the competition with a winning momentum and having won the one-day series against South Africa and Sri Lanka we are confident that we can also beat India,” he said.
Misbah admitted that his team will miss the tall left-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan, but still he feels Pakistan have a good bowling attack.
“We have done well in recent series and we have a good combination for one-day cricket even though we will miss Mohammad Irfan in such a major competition.”
“Conditions are similar for all the teams but we have a good bowling attack and that is our strongest point but obviously the batsmen have to support them with good scores,” he added.
