Another year, another World Cup, and yet another opportunity beckons for the Indian Women's Cricket Team to finally end their barren run at ICC events despite a strong showing in the past 5 years or so.

The 2023 edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which will take place in rainbow nation, South Africa between February 10-26, will be a 10-team affair, with 5 teams locked in Group A and B respectively.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Women in Blue finished as finalists in the previous edition of the World Cup as well as in the recent Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. On both occasions, India went down to eventual champions, Australia.

The Indian Women's Team have been placed in Group B alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, former champions England and the West Indies, and Ireland.

India will kick start their campaign against Pakistan in Newlands, Cape Town on 12th February, before locking horns with the mercurial WI at the same venue on the 15th.

Their penultimate fixture will take place on 18th Feb against heavyweights England in Port Elizabeth, where they will also take on Ireland Women on the 20th.

India must finish in the top-2 to ensure a semi-final berth.
