India vs Zimbabwe 2016: Football fever engrosses Team India
Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team of players are surely having an exuberant time in Zimbabwe. In what appeared to be a cakewalk, the Indian Cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by 3-0 in the One-Day International (ODI) Series. The home country lost by 10 wickets on Wednesday as the young players had a gala time and this was the first time when Dhoni did not have to bat in a 3 match ODI bilateral series.
This tour has so far been a one-sided affair with visitors humiliating the hosts in every match. India had five uncapped players in this tour out of which four made their debut. KL Rahul made a century in his debut ODI and a half-century in the third match. Meanwhile, Faiz Fazal made his debut in the last match and scored a half century. Karun Nair failed to impress in the first match, but made up for it later, scoring a handy 39 in the second. Yuzvendra Chahal too had a great tournament taking six wickets. Mandeep Singh, however, remained the only uncapped player in the tournament.
It seemed like the youngsters had a great time on the field, as well as off of it. MS Dhoni with all his young team members like Jaydev Unadkat, Karun Nair, Mandeep Singh, and Axar Patel were often seen playing video games to let off steam after the match as well as during their warm-up sessions. And knowing MS Dhoni and also owing to his recent posts, the game that they played was football.

It is no mystery that Dhoni is a great lover of the sport and before the Ranchi boy made it big in the world of cricket, he used to be a goalkeeper for his school side. Euro 2016 and Copa America fever seems to have caught Team India, since the boys are seen playing the game way too often nowadays on their consoles. Also, Dhoni recently made heads turn with his impeccable dribbling skills in a football match between film stars and cricketers.
Earlier this week, the ace cricketer was seen riding a Police Officer’s bike in Zimbabwe, after which he posted a picture on his Instagram page titled “Spain vs Argentina”. The photo shows them so engrossed in the football game as if they’re kids.
The reference was being made to the football teams of Argentina and Spain. Spain are the defending Euro champions while Argentina are among the favourites to win the Copa America this year.
