Indian team to reach Kolkata on Friday for fitness test
Kolkata, June 4 (IANS) Indian cricketers led by Virat Kohli will fly in to the city on Friday to undergo a fitness test ahead of their upcoming trip to Bangladesh starting June 7.
"All the players will be arriving on Friday at different times of the day," said Cricket Association of Bengal sources.
Skipper Kohli is scheduled to reach the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 4.20 p.m while team director Ravi Shastri would arrive at 5 p.m.
The team is scheduled to undergo the fitness test at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
Following recurrent injuries to players, the BCCI has for the first time decreed all cricketers need to take the fitness test before embarking on the tour. So long, only the injured players were subjected to fitness test prior to a series.
"The squad will leave for Bangladesh on Monday (June 8) morning," CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly told IANS.
The Indians are slated to play one Test match followed by three One-Day Internationals during the trip that ends with an ODI on June 24.
