India's strongest playing XI when everyone is fit

Indian cricket team pose with the ICC Test Championship mace

It almost feels like the Indian cricket team have been jinxed recently, a visit to a temple is definitely due for the entire team as they can’t seem to have a settled combination for two consecutive matches owing to injuries. There is an incredible stat that Virat Kohli has never fielded the same 11 for two consecutive Tests, almost like a football manager, but that’s also largely due to the multiple injuries the team has had to deal with.

In the last couple of months, India have had to deal with injuries to Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma. These 6 players nearly form a very credible team of their own, but have had to miss out due to various injuries.

It has proven to be a blessing in disguise for the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Parthiv Patel and Karun Nair as they have worked themselves into the squad.

But with harder challenges to come by, Virat Kohli would surely need to fix his strongest playing XI at some point.

We list down India’s strongest playing XI when everyone is match-fit here –

Murali Vijay plays a glorious cover drive

Murali Vijay has put his position in the squad beyond any doubt with commanding performances over the last couple of years. He has proved his ability in testing conditions around the world and has helped to take the sting out of the opposition’s bowling at the beginning of the innings. He has also shown the ability to quickly adapt to batting with a number of different opening partners.

The only criticism of him could be the fact that he doesn’t score enough centuries.
