India's support is needed to bring cricket back to Pakistan: Shahryar Khan

After a gap of 6 years, International cricket was played in Pakistan's home. Thanks to the courageous Zimbabwean cricket team who stepped up to play in Pakistan.

Shahryar Khan, chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is putting in all the effort to ensure the Zimbabwe series go on without any stoppages. When asked about did he ever thought cricket may never return, he said that he is a positive man and knows the power of sports.

"Not at all. I am a very positive person and have always believed that sports  has the power to unite countries. That's what has happened today. I am extremely delighted at this point of time," Shahryar was quoted saying by Time of India.

He hopes that this tour (Pakistan-Zimbabwe) will open doors to many other teams coming in future and especially he stressed on the Asian teams to support the game in Pakistan.

"Yes, I hope so. There has been a lot of anticipation for this series and we hope it will open doors for more teams to play here in the future. I firmly believe India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka should give us more support so that we can bring back regular international cricket to Pakistan."

PCB chairman added saying that he is positive about the India-Pakistan series soon as his meeting with the Indian counterparts was fruitful.

"We are very hopeful of the tour. I have had fruitful meetings with BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya who is a very good friend of mine, and finance minister Arun Jaitley. I have got a positive response from their front, and we are awaiting a green signal from the government of India."
