Injured Karn Sharma ruled out of Zimbabwe series

Karn Sharma won’t be touring Zimbabwe

Indian leg-spinner Karn Sharma has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour after he fractured a finger in his left hand, reports ESPNcricinfo.  There will be no replacement named for the 28-year old which effectively means that Harbhajan and Axar Patel would be leading the spin attack.

Karn’s previous ODI was against Sri Lanka last year in November where he went wicketless in his 10 overs. He then went on to make his Test debut later that year against Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar series.

The Indian team is scheduled to leave for Zimbabwe on the 7th of July and will be playing 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is. The likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, and Shikhar Dhawan were rested for the tour with Ajinkya Rahane being named as the stand-in skipper.
