Injury forces Dilshan out of the tri-series starting June 28

Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan has been ruled out of the forthcoming tri-series in West Indies due to a calf injury, which he picked during the Champions Trophy semifinal against India.

The dashing right-hander has suffered a second degree tear and has been advised rest for 4-6 weeks by the doctors, as was informed by the Sri Lanka team spokesperson.

The triangular series will also feature India along with the hosts West Indies and is scheduled to begin on the 28th of this month following the conclusion of Champions Trophy.

The attacking opener was looking good against India in the semifinal before retiring hurt in the 4th over of the innings. Even though he came back to bat in the 49th over, he looked in extreme discomfort at the crease. Sri Lankan selectors are expected to announce his replacement soon.
