IPL 2015: Heavy rains predicted during Royal Challengers Bangalore-SunRisers Hyderabad clash

The Chinnaswamy Stadium is no stranger to rain

Nothing dictates the game of cricket quite like the weather. And today, if you are a cricket fan and especially a big follower of the Indian Premier League (IPL), you could be in for some bad news as Bengaluru, the city where the Royal Challengers Bangalore are set to face the SunRisers Hyderabad, has witnessed heavy rains over the past 24 hours.

Earlier today, afternoon showers hit the Garden City and dampened the enthusiasm of the fans a bit. The weather got a little better after 5:30 pm but the forecast for later doesn’t seem very good.

Accuweather.com predicts thunderstorms in Bengaluru between 9 pm and 10 pm tonight, which means a majority part of the match might be lost out on. This not a 100% accurate prediction, so there is still a good chance that we can get a full match.

One must remember that a minimum of 5 overs needs to be played by each side for a result. If not, the match will be abandoned and points will be shared (1 point each) between the two teams.

The players and coaching staff on both sides, though, seem quite confident that the match will go ahead as scheduled.

RCB won their first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Saturday while the SunRisers lost their opening match to the Chennai Super Kings on the same day.
