IPL 2015 trading window: Royal Challengers Bangalore acquire Iqbal Abdulla from Rajasthan Royals

Talented left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdullah has made a move to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the 2015 season of the Indian Premier League in the IPL transfer window which is open till December 12.

He is the RCB’s second buy this season after Manvinder Bisla who was bought from the Kolkata Knight Riders, and the fifth overall after Mumbai Indians acquired Unmukt Chand, R Vinay Kumar and Parthiv Patel from Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.

The secretary of the BCCI Sanjay Patel confirmed the news in a release.

"In what is the fifth trade prior to the 2015 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore have acquired Iqbal Abdulla from Rajasthan Royals”. he said.

The 24-year-old spinner won the Emerging Player of the Year award for his exploits in the 2011 edition of the IPL where he took 16 wickets, while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

He was also part of the squad that won the tournament for the first time in 2012. He was picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2014 IPL Auction and has picked up 40 wickets in the 41 T20 games that he has played so far.

The 2015 IPL season will be played from 8 April till 24 May.
