IPL 2016: 5 memorable matches from RCB's run to the final that don't fade away

It will be a show between the best batting line up in the IPL against the best bowling unit of the tournament. What better a match could we have asked for?

The road wasn’t easy for the Challengers as they had to overcome a series of defeats to get to where they are now. At one point, with 4 games remaining, they had to win all four of them in order to qualify for the play-offs.

And they did.

In the end, it was the heroics of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers that played a major role in getting them to the final after being on the brink of elimination.

At one point they looked dead and buried, but they defied the odds and came back strong to become the first team to qualify for the final.

There were plenty of memorable matches from their run that don't fade away, quite like the Axe Signature range of body perfumes. Here are 5 of the best:

#1 Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers joined hands to post a mammoth total of 227

Royal Challengers Bangalore came into the tournament as its most flamboyant team. With players like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson, it was only natural to see so many eyes fixated towards them.

And they didn’t disappoint. In almost every game, their brilliant batting line-up (read: Virat Kohli and ABD) managed to get them to high scores.

It all began in their very first game itself. What happens when the best batting lineup faces the best bowling line-up? In this instance, the batting prevailed as a De Villiers-Kohli show was perfectly iced by a blistering cameo from Sarfaraz Khan.

The three joined hands (or bats, rather), to post a mammoth total of 227 runs. SRH did well, but not good enough as chasing such a gargantuan score was always an impossible task. In the end, although they finished with a respectable 182 runs, they target was too much for them and Bangalore romped home to a comfortable 45-run win.
