IPL 2016: David Warner shared his report card on social media

David Warner has tormented the bowlers in the IPL 2016

In the last one year or so, swashbuckling Australian batsman David Warner has let his bat do all the talking as he has amassed tonnes of runs across all the formats. Warner, who is leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2016, has led his team from the front as he is the highest run-getter for them this season. Warner has tormented the bowlers in the tournament to score 515 runs in 11 matches and he currently stands 3rd in the IPL highest run-scorers’ list this season. He has been very impressive with his captaincy too as his team Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently at the top of the IPL 2016 points tally.

However, one of the most destructive batsmen in the world right now has certainly proved one of his teachers wrong who said to him, “You will be good at nothing when you grow up.” Warner posted a picture of his class report and wrote, “And when you move house you tend to come across some old stuff. Class report year 12. Haha Class clown but always behaved in a responsible manner. This was one teacher who said to me you will be good at nothing when you grow up. I practiced what I knew best and that was Cricket.”

Warner, who created history by playing an international game for Australia even before making his First Class debut, has surely proved his teacher wrong with his exemplary achievements on the field. Warner's income of around $4million last year from cricket and commercial sponsorships is a testament to the fact that exam results aren't always the best indicator of success in the real world.

Currently, Sunrisers Hyderabad are performing brilliantly under Warner’s stewardship and they are at the top of the IPL points table now. Waner has immensely contributed with his bat and he will surely look to carry on his rich vein of form in the upcoming matches too. The dashing left-hander will also like to win his first major trophy as a captain this season.
