Delhi Daredevils plays the Rising Pune Supergiants at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi. The Daredevils on the back of consecutive victories play the Supergiants, struggling for form, losing their last two games. The main worry for MSD will be the loss of key players due to injuries. Delhi seemed to have to found the right combination and have pulled off two really convincing wins over the table toppers, Gujarat Lions, and Kolkata Knight Riders, and now is clearly a heavyweight in the tournament.

Kevin Pietersen’s injury in the Pune camp was followed by the injury to De Plessis, Mitch Marsh, and Steve Smith, who all had been in a rich vein of form. Usman Khawaja had been roped in to replace the South African and Pune will look to turn their fortunes and get some momentum into their campaign at the Capital City of India. Delhi is hitting all the right chords with their team selection and all the chopping and changing the Daredevils had undergone in the last three years, seems to be bearing fruit. Zaheer Khan and his boys are second in the table winning 5 of their 7 games.

Delhi Daredevils
Batsmen: Quinton de Kock and Rishabh Pant opened the batting for Delhi against the Gujarat Lions and both of them were brilliant. De Kock scored a brilliant century against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and seemed to have lost his touch post his century, but scored run a ball 46 against the Lions and showed signs of returning to form. Rishabh Pant partnering de Kock for the first time against the Lions played an outstanding innings of 69 and is likely to continue with the role of the opener.
Next to bat for Delhi is wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson and all his promise looks to be finally turning into performances. JP Duminy, Sam Billings, and Karun Nair are likely to follow Sanju Samson in the middle. The Delhi batting line-up may not include big names except someone like a Duminy but we have certainly seen this season what a Billings or a Nair or even a Pant can do with the long handle.

All-Rounders: Chris Morris, the lanky South African, has been a hit with the Daredevils this season with both bat and ball. And it will be very foolish for any side to take this man lightly, Morris has picked up 6 wickets already and his brilliant innings of 82 was a treat to watch for any cricket fan. He may not look like it but he can hit a cricket ball really long and bowls at 140 clicks. JP Duminy can also roll his arm over and bowl some right arm off-spin.
Bowlers: Zaheer Khan the captain will lead from the front with the new ball and the Indian veteran might be partnered by Mohammed Shami. Shami, who plays for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, was a regular feature in the Indian team but had lost his place due to injury and will look to use the IPL to make a comeback into the Indian side. Amit Mishra is in the race for the Purple Cap, and the leggie has picked up 9 wickets this season and has featured every game for the Daredevils this season and is almost sure to feature in the playing 11. Shahbaz Nadeem is likely to be Mishra’s partner in crime.
Probable Playing 11: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, JP Duminy, Sam Billings, Karun Nair, Chris Morris, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Shahbaz Nadeem.
