IPL 2016, DD vs SRH Playing 11: Probable XI for Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Confirmed)

Delhi will look to get things back on track against SRH

The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur is set to get its first taste of the VIVO IPL 2016 as Delhi Daredevils take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 52nd match of the tournament. The Daredevils were among the top teams in the tournament for a long time but they have slipped in terms of their form of late and are currently struggling  on 6th position on the points table. The Sunrisers, meanwhile, are on a roll and have established themselves on top of the table with 8 wins from 12 games, all but ensuring a playoff berth in the process. Both teams had disastrous starts to their respective campaigns with Delhi losing badly in their first game and Hyderabad conceding their first 2 matches of the current season. It will be a crucial encounter for both sides but DD will be more desperate to win as their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs depend on it. *UPDATE: DD vs SRH Today’s Confirmed Playing XI:

Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, Eoin Morgan, Deepak Hooda, Naman Ojha(w), Karn Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Barinder Sran, Mustafizur Rahman

Delhi Daredevils: Quinton de Kock(w), Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, Jean-Paul Duminy, Carlos Brathwaite, Pawan Negi, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Amit Mishra, Jayant Yadav, Zaheer Khan(c)

Here’s how Delhi Daredevils are likely to line up for the match:

Batting

The Delhi batsmen have been in pretty decent touch this season and it has been quite a team effort from all of them. Opener Quinton de Kock has been their leading run-scorer with close to 400 runs in the season at a good average of slightly over 38 and was the first player to score a century this year. The Indian batting duo of Sanju Samson and Karun Nair have fared well, too, with 271 and 263 runs respectively.

Youngster Rishabh Pant has impressed in a few good knocks that he has played so far and has a tally of 165 runs in 8 innings. South African batsman JP Duminy has been consistent so far with 174 runs at an average of just under 44. Shreyas Iyer has been the biggest disappointment for DD this season as he has scored just 30 runs and had been kept out of the team for the past few matches only to fail again on his return to the playing XI.

All-rounders

Chris Morris has been the most successful all-rounder for the Delhi Daredevils this season with 168 runs at a thunderous strike-rate of 184.61 and quite a number of wickets as well. The Daredevils also tried other all-rounders like Carlos Brathwaite and Pawan Negi this year but none of them have managed to click too well.

Bowling

DD’s bowling attack this season has been quite impressive despite the fact that they have relied on a few bowlers to do the job every time. Amit Mishra has been their leading wicket-taker with a tally of 13 wickets so far and best figures of 4 for 11. Morris, on the other hand, has claimed 12 wickets and has also been highly economical, conceding his runs at under 7 an over.

Skipper Zaheer Khan has also been among the wickets with 9 in his kitty thus far and a decent economy rate of slightly under 8. Leggie Imran Tahir has played just 4 matches in the tounament and picked up 5 wickets. Pacer Mohammed Shami’s performance has been a letdown as he has just 5 wickets and has been giving away his runs at an economy of slightly below 10.

Probable Playing XI

Quinton de Kock (wk), Akhil Herwadkar, Karun Nair, Sanju Samson, JP Duminy, Rishabh Pant, Chris Morris, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Zaheer Khan (c), Imran Tahir.
