IPL 2016, Stats: Faf du Plessiss' innings not enough to hand RPSG a victory against Kings XI Punjab
Hosts Kings XI Punjab beat Rising Pune Supergiants by 6 wickets, and registered their first victory of the tournament.
After winning the toss, Rising Pune Supergiants elected to bat on a hot and sweltering day in Mohali, and in spite of a battling innings by opener Faf du Plessis, Pune never found the desired momentum and the innings just meandered along, and they eventually ended with 152 runs.
For Kings XI, Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers as he varied his pace and lengths beautifully and sanpped up 3 wickets in his 4 overs giving away only 23 runs.
Murali VIjay and Manan Vohra started off like a train and put up quite a show. Both Vijay and Vohra matched each other with their array of strokes.
Murugan Ashwin then took 3 wickets and brought Pune back into the match, but it proved to be a too little too late as Glenn Maxwell came out swinging and smashed 32 off 14 balls.
