IPL 2016: Highest/Most Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers after Gujarat Lions vs Kolkata Knight Riders (GL vs KKR)
Gujarat Lions played Kolkata Knight Riders on 19 May 2016 at Kanpur. Both the teams needed a win to seal the spot for the playoffs. Gujarat Lions was just outside the top-four and wanted a win to get back into the action. Kolkata Knight Riders was in number three and needed a win to charge into the top-two.
Gujarat Lions won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost wickets at regular intervals. KKR never looked settled. Yusuf Pathan was the only player to score over thirty runs. It was a below par batting performance from Kolkata Knight Riders.
Gujarat Lions came into to bat needing just 124 runs. GL was off to a wobbly start. Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum departed early. Gujarat Lions captain stepped up and took charge along with Aaron Finch.

In the end, it was an easy victory for Gujarat Lions.
Virat Kohli holds the orange cap with over 800 runs. Gautam Gambhir stays at number six.

Dwayne Smith was excellent with the ball for Gujarat Lions. He took four wickets giving away just eight runs in his spell of four overs. Jakati had a good game too.
Kolkata needed some splendid performances with the ball. It didn’t happen, though. It was an ordinary bowling performance from the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Gujarat Lions dominated right from ball one and didn’t offer KKR bowlers much.
Mitchell McClenaghan holds the purple cap with the most wickets in the tournament so far. Andre Russell stays at number five.
