IPL 2016: Highest/Most Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer

Royal Challengers Bangalore played Kolkata Knight Riders on 2 May 2016 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Both the teams came into this game after defeats. RCB had been struggling and currently sit in the bottom half of the table. While KKR started their campaign beautifully but have lost track in the last two games. Both teams wanted a win. This match had it all to make it an absolute thriller.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first. Bowling first has been the trend in IPL 2016.

Gautam Gambhir said, "Would like to chase down the target set by the RCB. Honoured to be captaining my hundredth game for the KKR. Very honoured. It's a good wicket here in Bangalore today. Three changes to our team."

Virat Kohli hinted, "The boys are up for it, there's a confident mood in the dressing room judging the mood in the dressing room. Would have like to bowl first as well. It's difficult to find the right combination when you aren't winning many games. Four changes to our team."

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI:

Virat Kohli(C), Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Lokesh Rahul (WK), Sachin Baby, Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron, Sreenath Aravind, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tabraiz Shamsi.

Kohli continued his sublime form and scored another half-century. AB de Villiers could not get going and was dismissed for only four runs.

Bangalore scored 54 runs in the last three overs, thanks to Stuart Binny, Sachin Baby, and Shane Watson. They put 185 runs on the board.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost wickets at regular intervals. They had lost their captain for just 37 runs. Troubled times for KKR.

Andre Russell and Yusuf Pathan played spectacularly and tipped the odds back in KKR’s favour. Yusuf Pathan demolished Shane Watson in the seventeenth over. He scored his fifty in just 27 balls. Russell and Pathan put 96 runs for the fifth wicket.

We have a change in the leading run-scorers chart. Virat Kohli now holds the orange cap. Gautam Gambhir moved to fourth whereas de Villiers slipped to fifth place.
