IPL 2016: Highest/Most Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers of the tournament

Bhuvneshwar Kumar wins the cup for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Virat Kohli was in terrific form throughout this tournament and he finishes the tournament with the Orange Cap. He has over 900 runs with seven half-centuries and four centuries, truly pushing the boundaries of consistency. Additionally, Kohli overtakes Suresh Raina as the leading run-scorer in all seasons combined.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner finishes the season in the second spot with over 800 runs at an average of 60.57. He has the most fifties of IPL and is the sole leader of the highest number of fifties in all nine seasons combined.

AB de Villiers unbeaten 129 is the highest individual score of the tournament and he is at number three in the leading run-scorers chart. Krunal Pandya was terrific with the bat for Mumbai Indians throughout the tournament, having the best batting strike rate (191.12) of the tournament.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar finishes IPL 2016 with the Purple Cap. He took charge from ball one and has been excellent throughout the tournament along with Mustafizur Rahman. Royal Challengers Bangalore had two players in the running for the Purple Cap with Yuzvendra Chahal finishing the tournament in the second place with 21 wickets.

Adam Zampa took six wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad during the league game at Vishakhapatnam to claim the best bowling figures of the tournament. Zampa also has the best bowling average of the tournament with figures of 9.58 while Mitchell Marsh has an economy of 5.00 and is the finest of the tournament.

David Warner (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, Ben Cutting, Naman Ojha (WK), Deepak Hooda, Bipul Sharma, Mustafizur Rahman, Barinder Sran, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Mustafizur Rahman was back in the side for SRH and replaced Trent Boult, who had played only one game in this edition of IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad started well with Warner and Shikhar Dhawan putting 63 runs for the first wicket. Moises Henriques had a forgetful final with the bat whereas Yuvraj Singh scored 38 runs off 23 balls.

Wickets fell soon after with Sunrisers Hyderabad losing four wickets in quick succession including the crucial wicket of David Warner. Ben Cutting stepped up and played a splendid cameo 39 runs in just 15 balls to propel Sunrisers Hyderabad’s score past the 200-mark.

Yuzvendra Chahal took a wicket while Shane Watson had an off day against SRH. He holds the record for most runs conceded in a single innings with 61 runs in the final.

Chasing 209, Royal Challengers Bangalore was underway with all guns blazing. Chris Gayle was on fire and smashed Sran all over the park in the early overs. Kohli and Gayle put 114 runs for the first wicket with Gayle slashing 76 runs in just 38 balls.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain continued his supreme form and scored yet another fifty but fell right after to Sran. Bipul Sharma removed AB de Villiers and brought Hyderabad back into the game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers made a wonderful comeback in the latter part of the game. Other than the openers, no other RCB player could get past the 20-run mark. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was excellent in this game as well and won the cup for Sunrisers Hyderabad with a fantastic second spell.
