IPL 2016: Highest Run-Scorers, Wicket-Takers, Best Catch after Gujarat Lions vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Gujarat Lions won all three games and were out today to win their fourth against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The teams batting second won thirteen out of the fourteen matches played so far in IPL 2016. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and evidently chose to field first.
Aaron Finch was instrument in GL’s wins. That was not the case this time, Aaron Finch could not continue with his form for he was undone with a terrific delivery from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. McCullum got off to a start but could not continue. He still has to find his magic touch this year.

Today, it was not going to be Aaron Finch for Gujarat Lions. Suresh Raina took over and commanded right from start. Suresh Raina fires himself into the top-10 run-scorers of IPL 2016 with 75 from 51 balls. Suresh Raina was the lone warrior for the rest of the players of GL did not score past 20. McCullum’s 18 of 17 balls was the second best individual score. Gujarat Lions crumbled today against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad rely heavily on David Warner. He has been their star man for so long and was the Orange cap holder in IPL 2015. Chasing 136, all eyes were on David Warner. He did not disappoint. He scored a brilliant half-century. Shikar Dhawan finally found his long lost form. He too scored a fifty and anchored the innings really well.
With that knock, Warner propelled himself to the top of the leading run-scorers chart. The captain of the Orange army has the orange cap now. Splendid performance from the openers.

Mustafizur Rahman is the standout bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad. This young player has impressed both pundits and fans alike with his highly accurate yorkers. He bowled a tremendous first over and gave only two runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed the danger man Aaron Finch for a naught in his first over. He had a terrific game tonight and picked up three wickets in the last over. He fished the match with brilliant figures of 4/29 and picked up the Purple cap. Overall, it was tremendous bowling performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
KNOCKED HIM OVER! What a ball by Bhuvi!

GL’s bowlers had a big ask today. Dale Steyn made his debut for the Lions against his previous team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dwayne Bravo of Gujarat Lions has one of the best bowling figures in an innings in IPL 9 with 4/22. Bravo is a tricky bowler. Scoring runs against him is never easy. Dhawal Kulkarni was the most economical bowler coming into today’s game.
Nothing worked Gujarat’s way today. It was all Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH has both the orange and the purple cap.

Fielding in IPL 2016 has been top-class. We have seen some incredible catches all through the tournament so far. The two spectacular relay catches dazzled us all. We have seen a relay catch from Russel and Chawla of Kolkata Knight Riders and another from Watson and Weise from Royal Challengers Bangalore. Watson-Weise relay catch against Delhi Daredevils still stands tall as the best catch in IPL 9.
