The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League kicks-off on April 9 with Mumbai Indians hosting the debutants Rising Pune Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The IPL auction, which took place on February 6 saw a number of high-profile names being bought by different franchises. While the 6 existing franchises used the opportunity to strengthen their squads further, the 2 new ones concentrated on forming a healthy nucleus of players for their first ever Indian Premier League.
