IPL 2016: Players with Most Sixes in the Tournament
The Indian Premier League is back. The cricketing extravaganza began on 9 April 2016 and ends with a grand final on 29 May 2016. Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants will play their first IPL. These teams serve as replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. The new franchise, Gujarat Lions are flying high at the top of the table.
In IPL 2016, teams have set big targets. Royal Challengers Bangalore scored over 227 runs in their opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rising Pune Supergiants scored over 190 in their game against Gujarat Lions.
Additionally, we have seen some wonderful pursuits as well. After all, this year’s IPL has been all about the chase. Quinton de Kock’s century against Royal Challengers Bangalore guided Delhi Daredevils to victory. GL’s opening pair are also active during the chase. They were responsible for that win against Rising Pune Supergiants.
All this can happen only with some tremendous power-hitting. And, we have seen some extraordinary strokeplay. We all love boundaries, don’t we?
So far, 5,724 runs came in boundaries alone. We have seen 330 sixes already. We are at the halfway mark of the tournament; expect that number to rise at a rapid pace.
When we look to associate a batsman to sixes, Chris Gayle pops up first. He has the highest number of sixes in all seasons combined.
This year, he still has to make a mark. All he needs is a single game; he can turn any stats around with just a single match.
David Warner is in sensational form and is crucial to SRH’s campaign. He leads our chart along with AB de Villiers. David Warner is also a front-runner in the leading run-scorers chart. While Virat Kohli leads the highest run-scorers chart.
Chris Morris played a fantastic knock against Gujarat Lions. He hit eight massive sixes. It was extraordinary. He currently hit the most number of sixes in an innings.
82* runs from 32 balls with 8 sixers. Such batting by @Tipo_Morris, take a bow! Superb, #Dhuandaar! #DilDilli #DDvGL

RCB’s AB de Villiers and MI’s Kieron Pollard follow Chris Morris with six sixes in a single innings. In that particular innings, Kieron Pollard scored fifty-one runs in just seventeen balls. That’s a strike rate of 300.00, mind-blogging innings from Pollard against Kolkata Knight Riders.
