IPL 2016: Rating the performance of India's World T20 squad in the IPL
After almost two months of exciting and intense cricketing action, the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League finally came to an end. The tournament ended with a new team lifting the trophy in the all-important final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The cash-rich league started just five days after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup which was also held n India. The Indian team was knocked out of the world event by eventual champions West Indies in the semi-final at Mumbai.
All the players of India’s World T20 squad competed against each other for their respective franchises in the IPL after sharing the same dressing room for the national side. Several of these players showed their calibre in the tournament while some of them would like to erase the memory of this year’s tournament.
Here we take a look at the performance of those sixteen players at IPL who were a part of the India’s World T20 squad.
#16. Pawan Negi (Delhi Daredevils) – 3/10
The 23-year-old all-rounder became a household name after he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auction by a whopping Rs 8.5 crores. He was also selected for India’s World T20 squad.
However, it has been a very disappointing campaign for the Delhi-born cricketer. In 8 matches the left-handed batsman has scored only 57 runs with a strike-rate of 96.61. He also failed to justify his price tag with his bowling. The slow left-arm orthodox bowler only managed to pick up a single wicket in the entire tournament.
